When nature sets the pace
Our work is a philosophy of life and our wines are the result of traditional, responsible, sustainable and respectful winegrowing.
As winegrowers and winemakers, our present and future commitment is to create wines of the highest quality that truly reflect the land that gave rise to them.
For instance, we conserve the century-old clones of Tinta Fina, we uphold the tradition of goblet pruning, we have recovered ancient grape varieties and we continue to plant trees and bushes. All of this allows us to achieve a more expressive, concentrated and complex grape that reflects the inimitable origin of our wines.
In keeping a long tradition of winemaking alive, the way we work represents our gratitude for growth and the reality of achieving our quality standards.
We work for the present with the future in mind
We are firmly committed to protecting natural resources and using them rationally.
In the WINERY
Our facilities are at one with the landscape and we utilise renewable energies.
Saving and treating water are part of every process.
We are moving towards maximum recycling.
We have managed to reduce waste production throughout the process.
In the VINEYARD
Our vineyard primarily comprises goblet-pruned old vines of the native variety Tinto Fino, which requires fewer water resources, allowing us to optimise water consumption.
We use natural fertilizers of animal and plant origin to protect our soils and local biodiversity.
Mindful that trees are vital in combating climate change, we have set up a tree planting project to:
- preserve centuries-old almond and walnut trees.
- plant oaks, holm oaks and almond trees.
- protect our native stone pine forests
- preserve white hawthorns and plants such as thyme, rosemary, English lavender, mastic thyme, and spike lavender.
- The balance and array of wildlife in our vineyard gives us grapes with the highest quality and expression.
As winegrowers and winemakers, we are socially responsible. We work sustainably and ethically and are constantly striving to improve our economic, social and environmental setting.
We have galvanised our winemaking project by having a broader vision and thinking in the long term, where the positive impacts of social, economic and environmental development are seen.
ECONOMIC setting
We are fervent believers in the benefits of the countryside and have always felt that our own village, Pedrosa de Duero, and the surrounding villages offer unique opportunities for projects that enable people to live and work in small settlements.
Our track record of over 40 years working in the fields with country folk has proven that they are the best drivers of the local economy. Our commitment to the rural setting and its people has also generated local jobs and wealth.
SOCIAL setting
We work with various charities in the fields of education, health, culture and sports.
We support their humanitarian mission based on the principle of solidarity as one of the most important values to overcome adversity.
Backing a good cause changes the world, making it better, more inhabitable, and more dignified.
ENVIRONMENTAL setting
We are truly privileged to be able to work in such an invaluable natural environment. Our pledge to preserve our ecosystem is greater today than it has ever been.
